For routine maintenance it is recommended to have appointments every 6-8 weeks. Some patients may only require a one off visit others every two weeks depending on treatment and patients request. I am happy to accommodate visits that are convenient for the patient wherever possible. Providing day, evening and weekend appointments.

What to expect on your first appointment:

- Full medical history including current medication and any allergies
- Neuro-vascular assessment
- Discuss any particular concerns
- Examination of the feet
- Treatment including scalpel technique if required
- Pre and post disinfectant of the feet
- Moisturise the feet and a foot rub
- Advice and recommendations

Any following appointments include reporting any changes in medical history/medication and any infections. Neuro-vascular assessments are repeated when required. With consent, any concerns may be shared including photos, with other Health Care Professionals to achieve the best possible care.

Diabetic foot assessments

A neuro-vascular assessment involves a series of questions, locating dorsalis pedis and posterior tibial pulses and a monofilament test. A doppler is a noninvasive procedure used to hear the pulses in the feet identifying blood flow to the lower limbs. A monofilament test requires the patient to close their eyes and report when the feel the monofilament gently touch the feet, this identifies any loss of sensation.
